Who knew....?
But that's not what I wanted to say. Since I have such grand internet service now (thank you t-mobile hotspots and android) I was surfing all my old hangout spots.
and guess what? who knew blackplanet.com was still active?
I know I didn't. The last time I was on that site laptops costs $2,000 and Claritin was by prescription only. So you know that was a while ago!
no, but seriously, I never would have guessed it was still up. what with myspace, facebook, linkedin, twitter, foursquare, and etc...
But then, I guess I am kinda glad that it is still up. its nice to still have the option to go on blackplanet and talk about things that affect us as black people right? I mean, where else can one vent about how all the little ethnic children in commercials hair be nappy?
oh that's right....there is a group on facebook for that very same thing.
Hmph, well. I tried. I just thought I would let everyone know that blackplanet is still there. Maybe we should boycott facebook. They have too many changes, but that is another blog. I bet blackplanet hasnt changed.....

Funny....
I'm watching House of Payne right now; the episode where Jazzy runs away because she is being ignored since she is no longer the baby. And it made me realize the difference of today's youth from past generations.
It also made me remember the story my mom told us of the time she ran away.
At the time she was about four, maybe five, and she had gotten upset with Nana, her mom, my grandmom and defiantly announced that she was running away. So, like every good parent, my grandmother bid her adieu with her blessings, a sandwhich, and a reminder that she was not allowed to cross the street.
And you know what? Mom sat right there on the curb in front of her house and ate her sanwhich as she 'ran away' and when it became the regular time to come inside after dark... she did.
And she never ran away again.
There is really no point to this story... I just thought it was a little funny.
For Colored Girls
Im watching FCG and its the last few minutes. It's really good- except, what's with all the poetry?! At some points I could barely decipher the meaning for all the prose.
I really am not into all the verbage taking place in this movie. I'm an American. I like my movies to think and reflect for me, please do not make me do it myself; I may get it wrong.
The movie has concluded now. Once again I missed the meaning because I was confused by words of it all. But, that just gives me an excuse to watch it all over again!
